Old vs. Young

If there are 2 sick people who need a respirator, one old person and the other young, but only one available, do we consider the ages in deciding who gets it?

Rav Yaakov Emden - all other things equal, the younger person takes precedence because he will live longer.

Rav Moshe Feinstein [חושן משפט ב ע"ה ז] and Rav S.Z. Auerbach [מנחת שלמה פ"ו] say that age plays no role.

Rav Schachter doesn't mention these opinions and ruled that one should prefer the younger patient.
