Someone wrote a sefer which he gave to Rav Chaim Kniyevsky who wrote comments for the entire length of the sefer. Each comment is usually a word [R' Chaim was a man of few words...]. יפה. פשוט. אולי. And so on.
He quoted a sefer which says that if one doesn't believe in the story of Bilaam's talking donkey then it is as if he denied the עשרת הדברות.
