Dear Parents,
I must apologize deeply and profusely. In my 49 year career as a Jewish educator, I profoundly believed in the ideal of Torah Umadda. In that spirit I felt that the highest achievement for my students was to attend an Ivy League University and move on to great success in whatever field they chose. I knew that many of the students lost their religion on campus. I knew that they were partying and stepping over any and every Jewish line of purity and decency. I knew that they were sacrificing their Judaism on behalf of superiority in the secular world.
But I turned a blind eye to all of this. I rationalized that ultimately it would pay off. They would not only excel in the outside world but also make a Kiddush Hashem. They would ultimately build strong Jewish homes and send their own children back to the same schools they attended thus proving how successful our indoctrination was. They would make millions and even billions which would fund Jewish causes.
But now I see that it was all a pipe dream. Now I see that these universities were no place for ANY Jewish person. That they are bastions of antisemitism and values [or better - "lack of values"] that stand in strong contrast to our hallowed tradition which our students ancestors sacrificed so much to preserve. So many souls lost to varying degrees to Torah and the Jewish people. We helped create brilliant businessmen, doctors, lawyers etc, etc, etc, who were light years behind in their proficiency in reading and understanding Jewish texts and had little to zero interest in doing so. We developed cultural Jews who lacked basic Yirat Shomayim and Ahavat Hashem. Instead of sending them to the holy Batei Medrash of the Mir and Lakewood we sent them to sexually permissive, hedonistic, college campuses where they were taught that there is no G-d and if He does exist it doesn't matter. Our girls didn't aspire to marry a Ben Torah and build holy families but to get ahead in the secular world and build small families that were religiously lax. In these universities we encouraged them to attend they were taught by people who believe that Jews have no right to build homes and live in many parts of Israel and even deny our right to nationhood. Actually - many would be very happy if every last Jew on earth was killed. And this toxic education we gave your children cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars per child.
I am sorry. I don't know how I can ever atone for my sins in this area. גדול המחטיאו יותר מן ההורגו - Causing one to sin is worse that killing them. So much irreparable damage has already been done. All I can say is that in the future we will start educating your children to be good faithful Jews above all else.
Your principal,
