A famous baseball player recently died. The media likes to talk about the *legacy* such people left behind. Legacy is defined as "the long-lasting impact of particular events, actions, etc. that took place in the past, or of a person’s life". Athletes really leave no significant legacy. They threw balls, hit balls and ran after balls. That is it. [Their legacy can be in other areas.]
Our culture is sports crazy, conveniently forgetting that these are just child's games that have been hyped up into a multi-billion dollar business. It is important to remember that it is all הבל הבל הבל הבל הבל הבלים.
