One of the big topics in the news recently is the statement by the head of the Heritage Foundation, Kevin Roberts that he won't cancel anyone - even Hucker Marlson.
I think [and might be wrong] that people should cut the dude some slack [note: I am not an anti-semite. Some of my best friends are Jewish and even family members...] b/c in a video of an internal meeting that was leaked [ironically, on the video they spoke about how horrible it is for people to leak internal meetings and anyone who does so should IMMEDIATELY resign and only hours later the video was uploaded and tens of thousands have seen it] he gave a full stop apology. He made it clear that there are no excuses. He goofed. He was wrong and it is his fault. He owned his stupidity. Hey - we all goof. Hucker is a friend of his [I hope not anymore] and he mistakenly said what he said. He made it clear that we SHOULD cancel Nazis and the like and that he absolutely denounces anti-semitism. I have an עין טובה to the guy-goy. Plus, nebuch, he lost almost all of his hair and that can't feel good.
What I found interesting was that he said that he doesn't absorb much news or listen to most podcasts. He consumes mostly sports. He said that. I find it odd that the head of the most prominent Conservative think tank with dozens or even hundreds of employees and a budget of over 100 million dollars and that has a strong influence on American politics consumes mostly sports.
Mussar Haskels:
A] When you ask for mechila - do so without excuses. Own your goofs!!
B] Don't waste your time on sports.
As an aside - I think it is cool that people get paid so much to sit around and think but it must be hard to sit all day in a tank and ostensibly watch fish swim by.
