Kavod

What is the worst עבירה in the Torah??

One could argue - murder! It is certainly one of the worst.

Taking away someone's כבוד is also a type of murder. It is indeed better to be thrown into a burning furnace than to embarrass a fellow Jew. ואכמ"ל.

So the GREATEST thing you can do is GIVE someone כבוד [as the מהר"ל was משריש that ידיעת ההפכים אחת].

I don't see this almost ever [like when we walk by people and completely ignore them...]. The only time the "כבוד file" comes up in our brain's "screen" is when we are dealing with our parents or a Rav [maybe...]. But the average Tom, Dick, Harry, Tomer, Yitzchak and Tzvi usually will not get כבוד. It is not on our radar. Hopefully we don't disgrace or embarrass him but כבוד??? He is just a "regular guy"?!!

Mistake. EVERY person deserves כבוד. One Chazal often quoted says that we will be asked two questions when we meet our Maker: המלכת קונך והמלכת חברך עליך - Did you make Hashem King over you and did you make your FRIEND a king over you!!

ויש להאריך בזה מאד כפי שהארכנו בשיעורנו וכאן באתי רק להעיר תשומת הלב להנהגה חשובה זו.
