ראוי לאדם להרגיל עצמו בסבלנות לענין תכונות ודיעות הפכיות מתכונותיו ודיעותיו הוא, שיחשב הרי אף שלעיני הפרטיות נראים שאין תועלת בתכונות ההם והדיעות ההם, והם הפכים מתכונה הישרה. אבל לפני חכם הרזים ב"ה גלוי שהכל עולה לתכלית מתאחדת ותיקון כללי. וכן במעשים, התחרות מביאה את האדם לצרור את העוסק באיזה מעשים שלפי השקפתו מביאים הם נזק ועכ"פ הם משוללים מכל תועלת. ע"כ צריך להתבונן שבענין ריבוי הדיעות והתפלגותם, ברוך חכם הרזים. שיש רז המאחד ומקשר את התכלית, המאחד דוקא מכל הפירודים הפרטיים. ובמעשים ג"כ ברוך שברא את כל אלה לשמשני, כי האדם הפרטי לא יוכל להשכיל איך כל המון המעשים הנראים רחוקים מתועלת, ולפעמים עוסקים אלו ג"כ מעיקים לו בערך מצבו הפרטי. אבל באוצר הכללי מתלקט מן הכל תועלת ושימוש כללי. ע"כ ראוי להביט בעין יפה, על כל הדיעות וכל המעשים שתחת השמש, ולהשכיל לבחור מכל אשר יראו עיניו את הטוב ואת היפה לשלימותם הרוחנית והגשמית, אז יהי' אוהב את המקום ואוהב את הבריות.
Ben Zoma saw a crowd on the steps of the Temple Mount and said, "Blessed is the Wise One of secrets, and blessed is He who created all these to serve me."
It is fitting for a person to accustom themselves to tolerance regarding qualities and opinions that are opposite to their own, even if, from a individual perspective, those qualities and opinions seem useless and are the opposite of a righteous quality. But before the Wise One of Secret, Blessed Be He, it is revealed that everything ascends to a unifying purpose and general repair. And similarly in actions, competition leads a person to oppose those who engage in certain actions that, in his view, cause harm or are at least devoid of any benefit. Therefore, one must contemplate that in the matter of the multiplicity of opinions and their division, blessed be the Wise One of Secrets. That there is a common secret that unites and connects the purpose, uniting precisely from all the private divisions. And in actions too, blessed is He who created all these things to serve me, for an individual cannot comprehend how all the multitude of actions that appear distant from usefulness, and sometimes even cause him discomfort relative to his personal situation [are beneficial]. But in the general treasury, benefit and general use are gathered from everything. Therefore, it is fitting to look favorably upon all opinions and all actions under the sun, and to be wise in choosing from all that his eyes see, the good and the beautiful for their spiritual and physical perfection. Then he will love Hashem and love his fellow creatures.
