אל תהי צדיק הרבה שייך בעניינים מעשיים, אבל בענייני מחשבה, שם הוא עולם שכולו טובה שאין לו מצרים, וכל המרבה להיות מקדש ומעלה מחשבתו בקדושה וטהרה באמת לאמתו, הרי זה משובח. רק לפעמים, מפני שהתוכן המחשבי פועל על התוכן המעשי, יש שצריך להגביל גם כן את מחשבתו, אבל צריך הוא לדעת שחובת גבול זה לא בא מפני המחשבה מצד עצמה, אלא מפני הצד המעשי המעורה בה. וכל מה שישחרר יותר את תוכן המחשבה שלו מהתוכן המעשי, כן ישיג את עולם החירות העליון, שלא יהיה אסור בכבלי הגבולים, ויזכה לנחלת יעקב, שהיא בלי מצרים.
"Do not be overly righteous" applies to practical matters, but in matters of thought, that is a world entirely of good without limits. And whoever increases in sanctifying and elevating their thoughts in true holiness and purity, that is praiseworthy. Only sometimes, because the content of thought operates on practical content, it is necessary to limit one's thinking as well, but one must know that this limitation is not due to the thought itself, but rather to the practical aspect intertwined with it. And the more he frees the content of his thought from practical content, the more he will attain the higher world of freedom, where he will not be bound by the chains of limitations, and he will merit the inheritance of Jacob, which is without limits.
