Changing Values

In 1996, only 27% of Americans supported same-sex marriage; today 67% do, including 44% of Republicans.

In other words, morals and values in our world are, in people's minds, not absolute. They change with time.

The problem for us is when these attitudes trickle down into our system of thought. Our tradition teaches that morals and values are eternal and don't change drastically every few years.
