Neiros in The Courtyards

 What does it mean when we say in Al Hanisim "והדליקו נרות בחצרות קדשך".   The Menorah is not in the חצר but in the היכל and it says plural בחצרות???? So it can't be referring to the Menorah in the Mikdash and נס חנוכה??!!
