The pasuk says והייתם נקיים מה' ומישראל which means that one must clear oneself of all guilt or suspicion both with regard to Hashem and people. Today I came across a Chasam Sofer [who was the gadol hador in Hungary] who writes that freeing oneself of suspicion with regard to people is exceptionally hard as people think the WORST things about others. I was so happy when I saw this Chasam Sofer because I have had that feeling for a long time. People think the worst things that never would have occurred to me. So now I am sooo careful to fulfill this dictum of והייתם נקיים but I find it very challenging. I never know how people are going to interpret [or misinterpret] things.
May Hashem save us from suspicion in all areas.
