In my smallness, I am a HUGE proponent of the notion of "Open Orthodoxy".
A person has to be open. Yes, he might learn Daf Yomi - but what about Halacha? Arba Chelkei Shulchan Aruch??!!
And what about Mishnayos Zraim and Taharos that aren't covered in the Daf Yomi cycle??
And what about Tanach and the vast literature of commentaries written thereon? Ohr Hachaim, Radak, Ralbag, Rav Hirsch etc. etc.
We can't forget She'elos and Tshuvos Sfarim in the thousands, Chasidus, Mussar etc. etc.
The list is endless and just today new sfarim have been published - as they are EVERY DAY!!!
Be open - learn lots of Torah!
