דוֹר לְדוֹר יְשַׁבַּח מַעֲשֶׂיךָ
Every generation will praise your deeds
It was said in the name of the Chiddushei HaRim that this means that in every successive generation your deeds become more praiseworthy.
What does this mean?
The Beis Yisroel suggested that this alludes to the fact that as the generations continue, there is more praise to Hashem when we do good deeds. Especially since the enlightenment when the world started becoming so secular - it has become harder [in a certain sense] to be upright Jews. In our generation when there is so much depression, anxiety, assimilation, atheism, quarantines etc. etc. it is especially challenging to be a Frum Yid. So when we DO keep the mitzvos - how praised is Hashem!!!
Similarly, the Chiddushei HaRim said: והיה עקב תשמעון. The word והיה means [according to Chazal] SIMCHA! There is special simcha when עקב - in the time of עקבתא דמשיחא, when Moshiach is about to come, תשמעון - we listen.
