Hashem is the Moshol. The Rebbe is the Nimshol. רח"ל.
Matters of faith are very delicate. A step in the wrong direction and one goes from Avodas Hashem to Avoda Zara.
I am sure that the Rebbe wished that people would serve Hashem and not him.
