New Book - Old Book - Flattering - Which One I Recommend

I received the following forwarded email:

Dear [name of synagogue] Family,

I am happy to announce that Michael Oren's new book, Ally, will be released formally on June 23.  The book is an experiential analysis of the alliance between the United States and Israel by an excellent writer and scholar who served as Israel's Ambassador to the United States for four years, from 2009 to 2013.

From everything that I understand about the book, from its author, I am certain that this is a book that all lovers of Israel and the United States will want to read.  Its subject is particularly important at this moment in a period of some tension between the two allies and in anticipation of the signing of a Nuclear Arms Agreement with Iran.

I must say that I am VERY flattered that Mr. Oren named his book in my honor but PLEASE don't waste your time reading it [unless you are removing "waste" in the "beis hakavod" where talmud torah is forbidden]. There is another MUCH BETTER BOOK that will help up against our enemies. It is called "Ramban Al Hatorah". Potent. Try it. Eye opening. We don't become more Jewish by reading about politics but by learning Torah.
