לרפואת האדמו"ר ר' יצחק מנחם בן גיטל מירל בריינדל לאה בתוך שאר חולי ישראל
In this weks parsha we read that when Yosef searched for his brothers - והנה תועה בשדה, he was lost in the field. In two other places it says this language of תועה with a ת. In one place it says והנה חמורו תועה and in a second place it says אדם תועה מדרך השכל.
Chazal teach us that the rebuilding of the Beis Hamikdash after its first destruction was revealed to us while the rebuilding of the second Beis Hamikdash was hidden from us. The reason for this is that the sins of the first Beis Hamikdash were revealed so its rebuilding [after 70 years] was also revealed. The sins of the second Beis Hamikdash [until this day] were hidden, so the time of the rebuilding was also hidden.
This means that the first time around we sinned with deeds which are revealed and for which people do teshuva - so middah kineged middah the time of the tikkun was also revealed. The sins of the second Beis Hamikdash were hidden because they were in thought - במחשבה, and people don't usually do teshuva for sins of thought so middah kineged middah the time of the tikkun was hidden.
The first Beis Hamikdash was called a הר, the second was called a שדה and the third will be called a בית.
So now we understand: והנה תועה בשדה - we are lost and mired in the destruction of the second Beis Hamikdash about which it says ציון שדה תחרש - tziyon will be plowed like a field. The reason is that the sins of the second Beis Hamikdash were hidden. The sins of the first Beis Hamikdash were והנה חמורו תועה - his chomer, his physicality was lost and drawn to sin and he realized these revealed sins and did teshuva. Hence, the time for the rebuilding was also revealed. In contrast the sins of the second Beis Hamikdash were אדם תועה מדרך השכל - our sins were in the realm of the intellect and forbidden thoughts. These are hidden sins for which the tikkun is also hidden for teshuva is very difficult. That is why we are still in the category of והנה תועה בשדה - finding that tikkun for the second Beis Hamikdash.
May the end come soon and we will see the light of redemption and be released from our erring ways:-)!!
