Part of being open minded is a willingness to see variant approaches. Since we value open mindedness, part of the "Yeshiva G'dola D'skype" project is to introduce and familiarize people with various strands of thought. Whether is be the mussar approach, the variant chassidic approach, the Maharal, Rav Kook etc., all of whom have their distinct flavor.
In the world of gemara there have been numerous methodologies of study. Most yeshivas today use the Lithuanian approach [known in the world of Academia as the "Analytic School"], which focuses on defining and categorizing terms and concepts and thereby solving difficulties in the text. Most of our shiurim are on this derech. [If you haven't read Rav Zevin's אישים ושיטות on different darkei limmud - today is the BEST DAY to start reading it:-)].
Recently I started giving shiurim in the Avnei Tziyon, written by Gaon HaRav Ben Tzion Kohn zt"l, which introduces the Hungarian pilpulistic approach. The author has bekiyus that almost rivals that of Rav Ovadiah ztz"l and sharpness, ingenuity and originality that is simply [or complexly] breathtaking. [Just about the only person I know who ever even heard of the sefer is Rav Baruch Simon Shlita. He once saw me with the sefer and had a lot of hana'a].

BEYOND GESHMAK!!!
PS - I found the sefer - including much dust - in the back of a store in Geulah many years back and was smitten. For years I couldn't find the later volumes, so one time when I was in Williamsburg for a wedding, I went to the authors son's apartment and purchased further volumes. He was very nice and hospitable and the sfarim are beyond amazing. TASTE AND SEE!!
