It has been reported that Joe Biden was accused of inappropriate behavior with women. Maybe he did maybe he didn't. If he DIDN'T I would be surprised. Even the late, boring, George Bush admitted to touching women in inappropriate ways and making lewd comments. Barbara didn't seem to care all that much. That is what you get when you marry a ... male. So I don't think that such a story is newsworthy.
What the Western world refuses to acknowledge is that the human male has a insatiable desire for physical contact and connection with women. Period. That desire is not satisfied by one's spouse. Men, by nature, are not monogamous. That being the case it is newsworthy when a powerful figure DOESN'T use his position to in some way take advantage of women. Many do. That is an undeniable fact.
The only way there is hope for man to treat all women as people and not objects is if a] He is an EXTREMELY sensitive individual who wouldn't want to hurt another soul b] He has a very well developed moral compass c] He is afraid enough of the repercussions or b] He is conscious and aware that G-d is watching.
And כולי האי ואולי - after all that nothing is certain. They are plenty and plenty more people who are otherwise good, upstanding G-d fearing married men who have fallen. Low. Really low.
And how many men not only control their actions but don't even THINK of attractive women they are not married to as objects of their sexual desire from time to time? I would estimate that the percentage hovers around ..... zero [excluding those unfortunate men who are attracted to members of their own gender. But they have their own long list of problems].
So is the human male. Hashem made us this way and He did so for a reason/s. Our task is to accept the reality for what it is and focus on being soulful people, thereby elevating us above our more base passions. We also have to make fences for ourselves ensuring we don't fall. Somehow, in the middle of the street men rarely cheat on their wives or do what they would desire to do with an attractive woman who walks by.
And, of course, daven A LOT for help!!!
