Good Investment

לרפואת יהודה אמיתי בן אביטל נחמה

Every day in davening we say זורע צדקות מצמיח ישועות - He plants tzedakos and sprouts salvations. What is the meaning of this obtuse phrase?

Let us say that I invest money in a stock or bond and receive dividends of, let's say, 6 percent a year. The longer I keep the money in the stock, the more more money I will have.

When someone gives tzedaka it works the same way. Hashem "plants" it, so too speak, and when the time is right - the person sees how it accrued so much more over time. The tzadikim [sometimes] don't see reward in this world because Hashem wants to keep their mitzvos "planted" so that when the time is ripe, when it really matters after 120, he can repay them exponentially. Then they experience true salvation.

Sometimes a person gives tzedaka and it lays dormant for many decades. Then chas vi-shalom he or a loved one gets sick and the tzedaka resurfaces and saves the person's life. צדקה תציל ממות.

I suggest that you invest big time. The dividends are huge and guaranteed.
