Thinking About Hashem

Today it is very popular to have debates about G-d's existence. In one corner - Richard Dawkins or Christopher Hitchens or Sam Harris ימ"ש and in the other corner Rabbi So and So or Believer So and So. [As if the athiests have furnished ONE PROOF for their belief. They haven't. Yet, they are SURE of themselves. How can one be so sure of something that he has no way, logical or otherwise, of proving??? It is not that atheists don't believe. They believe in EVERYTHING. Billions upon billions of convenient coincidences that occur every second in order to make life on this planet possible. Believers in G-d are the true deniers because they deny the millions of silly theories to explain life and accept the only logical, tenable one that explains EVERYTHING in one fell swoop - G-d].

Imagine that two of your children would have a debate as to whether you actually exist and have ever existed. That would be quite offensive. It is also quite offensive to talk about the ONLY true existence and reality and debate if about his existence.

So all of this kefirah and talking ABOUT Hashem must lead us to a MUCH BETTER PLACE when we think and talk G-dly thoughts and words as INSIDERS. Not as some scientists where we look "objectively" at the results in the laboratory of life but as souls who think and identify with their G-dly thoughts and feelings. Hashem must be a living reality whose existence is faaaar more real than anything we can imagine and certainly than ourselves.

So the question is not whether G-d exists but how do we understand His interaction with the world, how we fit into the scheme of things and what we can do to make His existence more palpable and real. Such thoughts elevate and enrich the imagination, purify the intellect and will and enhance our capacity for good deeds.

Our very lives must be saturated with the light, purity and sweetness of Hashem.
