This is not satire. It is a real article. Too good.
This year's Pesach table was sad and lacking for the chairman of the state camp, Benny Gantz , and while everyone except the 59 kidnapped people and their families gathered around the Shulchan Aruch, something was missing in Gantz's family home.
Just before Pesach, Benny Gantz was forced to say goodbye to his beloved dog, Belle, after 14 years together . In a post that Gantz shared, he eulogized his dog: "Farewell to the dog Belle. Before the holiday, we said goodbye to Belle, who was an inseparable part of the house. Some would say the center of the house."
He added and described the moment she joined the family: "14 years ago, when I was appointed Chief of Staff, my children set one condition: It was time for us to get a dog. And so, Belle came home. A little dog, with one eye and a huge heart."
"She didn't ask where I was going that much, she was just happy that I was coming back. She wasn't interested in politics, but she was happy to sit by the couch to watch me on TV. She wasn't scared of heights, and she wasn't impressed by stairs." Gantz shared, "Belle became a joy and an anchor point for all of us at home, an inseparable part of life. There is no security guard who hasn't received a warning about the 'mines' she left in the yard, and it doesn't matter if it's a neighbor, a friend, an IDF major general or a senior politician – Belle always stood in front of him, rolled onto her back and demanded a belly rub," "Belle was there for the children – she welcomed Nadav when he returned from the army during tough times, listened to Noga's conversations with her friends, waited every day for Nir to return from school, and carried Noam on walks in the neighborhood."
"Before the holidays, we said goodbye to her after a period of serious illness. Even in the last moments, before we handed her over to the vet, Belle reminded us that a home with a dog is a home with another heart," and he ended with an important message for dog adoption, "So those of you who can – go adopt a dog, because no matter how much you give to him – he will give you back much more."
