Regarding yesterday's post about heating water with a Shabbos clock - PLEASE look in the Yabia Omer [10/ 26] and see how Rav Ovadiah does battle with Rav Tzvi Pesach Frank, Rav Moshe Feinstein, the Tzitz Eliezer and others and uses one of his famous sfeik sfeikas [maybe there is no בישול אחר בישול בלח and maybe גרמא is מותר even שלא במקום הפסד] and healthy logic [there is no גזירה שמא יחתה בגחלים in the absence of גחלים] to be lenient.

Rav Ovadia is many-many-many levels beyond unbelievably awe-some. Fortunately, his kever is one or two minutes minute away from my bus stop so I can go visit him whenever. They recently republished his Yabia Omer [thanks Uncle Ira:-)] with his notes.
