I overheard a lawyer telling someone about an email he read from an externally religious Jew who had stolen over 10 million dollars [and is going to jail] to his friend. The thrust was "I know that it [the success of the crime] is all bi-dei shomayim and we need tremendous siyata di-shamya so all I can do is my hishtadlus and leave the rest up to Hashem." Hmmmmm.

Stealing in order to save a life. There is a vast corpus of literature on this topic but R' Asher as always has an original approach.
