"ואחרי כן יצאו ברכוש גדול"
Afterwards they will go out with great wealth.
What is that all about? Isn't it enough that we left Egypt and are freed from servitude?
The idea of redemption is not merely to be in the same place we were before the redemption. We have to be in a MUCH better place in order to the redemption to have complete significance. Otherwise - what was the point of all of the suffering?!
That is what we mean when we thank Hashem who
"הוציאנו מעבדות לחירות מיגון לשמחה ומאבל ליום טוב ומאפילה לאור גדול ומשיעבוד לגאולה ונאמר לפניו שירה חדשה"
We aren't in the same place where we were before. Now we are in a new state of eternal, immutable freedom, unbridled joy, darkness turned into a GREAT light [and not just a regular light], servitude was transformed into redemption [and not merely not being enslaved]. And since this is a new state, it mandates a NEW song!! So we HAVE to go out with a רכוש גדול [and not just רכוש] not as a bonus but as part and parcel of Hashem's plan to elevate us to previously unattainable heights.
In addition - we have a task to accomplish in this world, namely spreading the Name Of Hashem. In order to accomplish it we need two basic qualities - material bounty and spiritual excellence. We received both when we left Egypt. Now we can use those gifts to transform the world. [See והגדת לבנך by R' Eli Adler shlita page 265].
Lessons:
1] Today we have been blessed as a nation with TREMENDOUS resources. It is not normal how much money the Jewish people have collectively. We just have to be wise enough to use it for the right things...
2] Whenever you go through your PERSONAL Mitzraim of tests and challenges, make sure that you come out of it a much better person so that it wasn't for naught ח"ו.
