Klal Yisrael didn't accept the psak of the Sefer Chasidim [in this or just about everything].
It is better to say that the fallen soldiers are holy, אין אדם יכול לעמוד במחיצתם, we mourn their loss - and tuck in our Tzitzis כדברי חז"ל.
