Please forgive me for my insensitivity and lack of basic understanding.
Following a 2011 agreement between Israel and Hamas, Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit was released in exchange for 1027 prisoners. Many of them continued being involved in terrorism and thus many Jews were ultimately killed in exchange for the release of Shalit. One of the murderers let free was the beast Sinwar ימ"ש. So in exchange for Shalit we got 1200 of our people murdered and over 200 of our people taken hostage and subjected to hell on earth.
A top official within Hamas said that Israel would release nearly 2,000 Palestinian security prisoners in exchange for around 20 living hostages as part of the deal. The figure includes 250 terror convicts serving life sentences and 1,700 others detained since the start of the war.
So how many Jews are going to be killed in exchange for the 20 hostages???
And aren't we incentivizing Hamas to take more hostages???
Of course we are thrilled that the hostages were released but aren't our celebrations short sighted??
