In my lifetime, the Presidency has gone more or less as follows: Democrat-Republican-Democrat-Republican-Democrat-Republican.
Why can't the same party stay in power?
Every four years we go through the same cycle of hope and disillusionment. People are fed up with the present state of affairs so the *other* party is voted into office. Four years later - the pattern repeats itself.
That is what is happening now in NY. People are fed up so they are swallowing up the "lokshen" that Sinwar Mamdani is feeding them. Within months they will wake up from their delusions.

Or in the memorable words of Ronald Reagan: The government is not the solution to the problem. Government IS the problem.
