Rav Yechezkel Abramsky once read the Megilla for his wife. When he finished he asked her what Mordechai was thinking when Haman led him around town on the king's horse and proclaimed "So is done to the man whom the king desires to honor! - ככה יעשה לאיש אשר המלך חפץ ביקרו "

He answered - Mordechai was thinking "When will this silly show of honor be done with and I can get back to my learning."
