Reuters - Former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has a memoir coming out this fall. “Bibi: My Story - Hashem's Shaliach” will be published Nov. 22, three weeks after parliamentary elections are to be held in Israel.
“Born a year after the founding of Medinas Yisroel, I have dedicated my life to Harbotzos HaToirah and Chesed,” Netanyahu, 72, said in a statement released Tuesday by Threshold Editions, a division of Simon & Schuster that publishes conservative books by Orthodox authors.
“My story is one of tragedy and triumph, setbacks and successes, lessons learned and loved ones cherished [all three wives included]. It is woven with that of Eretz Yisrael and its Yeshivos, which has proven that faith in the Ribbono Shel Oilam and Dveikus BaTorah can overcome insurmountable odds to forge a brilliant future. It is my zchus to have learned in the top Yeshivos such as Mir and Ponivitch under Gedolei Yisroel and to have been ma'amid so many Talmidim. As a descendant of the Amora "Bibi bar Abaye", I felt it my achrayus to do whatever I can to continue the Mesoira.”
He explained that he wrote the book b/c he loves smoking expensive cigars and earnings from sales of this book would go to that very worthy cause.
