On that note, two myselach:
A Shabbos guest told me about 25 years ago that he once complimented a Gadol and Tzadik on his .... TIE [!!!]. And the Gadol LOVED the compliment. My friend explained that people only related to the Rav as a Torah machine but ignored his human component. Finally someone acknowledged that. That is what made the Gadol feel so good.
A Gadol was sitting on a bus in Israel and an Avreich saw him. He obviously thought to himself that this is an ideal "hocking" moment. So he sat down next to the Gadol and asked a question. [Or the Gadol sat down next to him. It doesn't matter]. The Gadol said: "הישיבה בצוותא איננה מחייבת שיחה". Sitting together doesn't obligate conversation....
