Trump's Drasha On Yisro

"Listen, folks, let’s talk about Yitro. Great guy, very successful. He comes out to the desert, and he sees Moses. And we love Moses, right? He’s a winner. He’s leading a massive movement. But he’s sitting there all day, judging everyone. One by one. It’s a disaster. It’s a total bottleneck. The lines? They’re longer than the lines for my rallies—and my rallies are the biggest in history, believe me."

The Ultimate Outsider

"So Yitro, he’s not an Israelite. He’s a Midianite. He’s an outsider. And you know, I like outsiders. But only if they come in legally. And Yitro was totally legal. He didn't have to worry about ICE. Legit. I love people who come here legally. But you're not legal? We're sending you back home. But he came in from the outside and saw the problems. We like people who come in from the outside and say, 'Look, the system is broken, and I’m going to fix it.'

Moses welcomed him. He didn't say, 'You don't have the right credentials.' He gave him a big, beautiful welcome because that’s what we do—we welcome the best people. And Yitro looks at the bureaucracy and says, 'Moses, you’re going to burn out. This is a low-energy way to run a country. You need middle management!'

And here’s the amazing thing: Moses—a very important Jewish leader, maybe the best—he actually listened to his non-Jewish father-in-law. Can you imagine? A Jewish man listening to his father-in-law? Usually, that’s a very tough negotiation. Very difficult. But Moses was smart. He knew a good deal when he saw one. He took the advice, he delegated, and suddenly the desert was running like a five-star hotel. Efficient. Very fast."

"And look, I have to tell you, I know a thing or two about this father-in-law dynamic. I have a son-in-law, Jared. Great guy. Very smart. Jewish. He’s been very successful in real estate, very successful in the Middle East—did a lot of great deals, the Abraham Accords, nobody thought it could be done.

So we have Moses—the top guy, the big leader—listening to his father-in-law, Yitro, who wasn't even Jewish at the time. Reminds me of how my son-in-law listens to me, because, let's face it, I have the best ideas. I have the biggest brain. Moses was very humble—some people say he was the most humble, though I think I might give him a run for his money—and he listened. Hard to imagine someone more humble than me but the Bible says that he was the most humble of all men. That would include me but I am certainly a close second.

He saw Yitro, a Midianite, and he said, 'This guy has a great temperament. He’s got a great look. I’m going to take his advice.' And it worked out beautifully. It’s about merit, folks. It’s about the best people, the best advice, whether they’re in the family or just joined the tent. We like people who get things done, right? We like winners. And Yitro was a winner."

"And you look at what’s happening today—it’s a disaster. It’s a total disaster. You look at the previous administration, the Biden administration—it was a catastrophe. They didn't have a Yitro. They didn't have a plan. They had people standing in lines—inflation lines, border lines—and nobody knew what they were doing. It was low energy, it was weak, and frankly, it was very sad.

Moses saw a problem and he fixed it immediately. He didn't wait four years to figure out that the system was broken. He didn't have a 'border czar' who never went to the border. He had Yitro! He had a guy who said, 'This is how you organize,' and Moses did it. If Biden had listened to someone with a brain—maybe even a smart father-in-law or a son-in-law like Jared—we wouldn't have had the mess we inherited. But we’re fixing it now. We’re making the tent big, we’re making the laws clear, and we’re going to have a movement like nobody has ever seen before.

The Sinai Merger

"Then we get to the mountain. Sinai. Huge mountain. Very impressive. And the Bible says the people were united. They were one. I’ve always said, we have to have unity. If we don’t have unity, we don't have a country.

They stood there, nobody was protesting, nobody was leaking to the press. It was a beautiful thing. They were all on the same page, signing the greatest contract in the history of contracts. I’ve made a lot of deals—big deals—but ten commandments on two stone tablets? That’s concise. I like that. No fine print. Just 'Do this' and 'Don’t do that.' Very strong."

The Power Couple

"And let’s talk about Tzipora. Moses’ wife. Now, Melania—she’s a very beautiful woman, very elegant—she loves the Tzipora story. Because Tzipora was a 'Cushite.' She was a Black woman, a strong woman, and she was from a different background.

Moses didn't care about the fake news or the critics who talked about her. He knew she was a fighter. When Moses was in trouble, she stepped up. She saved the day. It’s a great romance. It’s about a man who wasn't afraid to marry someone different, someone powerful. It’s about a leader who knows that talent comes from everywhere."

"So, we’re going to welcome the guests, we’re going to listen to the smart people—even the fathers-in-law—and we’re going to make Sinai great again.

Thank you. God bless you - and God bless America!!!"
