I often find myself looking for the expiration date on foods. That gets me thinking...

Someone once came to Rav Shlomo Zalman Auerbach and with a broken heart told him that he has a fatal illness and the doctors have no hope for him.

Rav Shlomo Zalman told him "How fortunate you are!! You can prepare  yourself to meet Hashem by paying all of your financial debts and asking mechila from anyone you may have hurt".

Every Rosh Chodesh in shuls worldwide we say in concert with the chazan "Baruch atah Hashem hemivarech es amoooo yisraa-e-e-el ba-shawwwwwwwww-meeeeeinnnnnnnnnnn"

[Rashi - "shawmein" means "fat"]
