Based On A True Story

With a radiant face that warms the cold,

And a gentle grace worth more than gold,

He greets the world with a timeless smile,

Walking with Hashem through every mile.

In the halls of Torah, his spirit soars,

He sifts through the Gemara’s endless shores.

When he stands in davening, his heart takes flight,

Serving his Creator with pure delight.

No sadness lingers, no doubt can stay,

For simcha guides him through the day.

At home, a beautiful garden grows,

Where love and faith like a river flows.

Little children laugh, a modest home blessed,

Where the presence of Heaven is a daily guest.

He is building a fortress of light and truth,

Guiding the next generation from youth.

Yet the pockets are empty, the pantry is bare,

The weight of the world is a heavy care.

But you’d never know from the joy in his eyes,

As he covers the debts and stifles the sighs.

From gmach to gmach, he quietly walks,

Shuffling the loans while the clock loudly ticks.

Borrowing here just to pay over there,

A cycle of faith, of hope, and of prayer.

A Quiet Call to Action

The tzadik conceals his heavy load,

As he cheerfully walks on this taxing road.

But the gmachs cannot carry his burden alone,

And a soul so holy should not stand unknown.

We have the merit, the chance, and the key,

To turn his hidden tears into true relief.

By opening our hands to this righteous friend,

We can help his borrowing cycles end.

Let’s partner in the Torah and the joy he shares,

And answer the cry of his silent prayers.

Let us raise this lamed vavnik from his distress

And in that merit, we should experience many a neis.

He is also a close friend of mine.
