Here is a line I heard today on the Internet from a well known Rabbi and I quote "It is absolutely forbidden to have separate seating at weddings".
Hmmmm.
I was wondering where he found that in the gemara and shulchan aruch. As often happens when respected people say stupid things, nobody challenged him.
He also quoted the gemara [Shabbos 156] that says אין מזל לישראל which he defined as "Jews have no good luck". That is not what the gemara means - see there Rashi and Tosfos. Everyone is allowed to make mistakes. I make them all the time. But I did want to set the record straight.
