To expand on what I spoke about last night:
In order to avoid being mechalel shabbos one is obligated to give up ALL of one's money if necessary. Every last penny - even if he is a billionaire.
Shabbos is VERY SERIOUS business.
Yet, to save a Jewish life and even add one second, EVERY JEW IN KLAL YISRAEL IS OBLIGATED TO VIOLATE SHABBOS A MILLION TIMES!!
A second of life is halachically worth more than a billion dollars.
A second of life is halachically worth more than a billion dollars.
ONE SECOND OF LIFE! 
So shouldn't we value and savor EVERY SECOND WE HAVE and be FILLED WITH JOY that we have it. Why taint it with worry about the future or regret about the past.
