Look at what Korach says: כי כל העדה כולם קדושים ובתוכם ה' ומדוע תתנשאו על קהל השם - EVERYBODY is holy, so why are you in charge?
He didn't realize that the entire community gets much of their holiness from the fact that Moshe is their leader. [Sifsei Tzadik]
He was also upset that he wasn't appointed leader of his tribe. Meaning - why are you in charge, I should be in charge? But, Korach, if everyone is holy then why should YOU be in charge?? [R' Naftoli Ropshitzer].
