I have many fascinating dreams. Dreams reveal secrets. One has to be a bit of a dream connoisseur to understand this and now is not the time to discuss this but see how prominent a role dreams play in sefer Breishis. And I know how deeply connected dreams are to Torah, because I have given so many shiurim where the students have engaged in deep REM sleep with dreams of actually being in a comfortable bed. [That is why I have been out of work for so many years and have been told that my true calling is stand up comedy and I should leave teaching for the intelligent people who also have teaching talent].
[Speaking of comedy: The Rabbi and bus driver go to Shomayim. The Rabbi is sent down to the hot place while the bus driver goes to the good place with the country club and 5 star accommodations. When the Rabbi protested he was told "When you gave a shiur, people went to sleep. When he drove his bus, people said tehillim"].
Anyway - I don't share most of my dreams because they are of a private nature and I am a private person [sorta]. This morning I had one that I will share. I dreamt that it was 10 minutes to seven. Then I woke up. About 3 minutes later I decided to look at my clock and it was ... about 7 minutes to seven.
How did I know?
Because dreams come from a deeper place, less connected to the body and more to the spirit and in the world of the spirit one doesn't have to look at the clock to know what time it is.
That is also why people can get up at a certain time without an alarm clock. Their spirit wakes them up. I used to go visit my great grandmother in Netanya. I would fall asleep on the bus but always feared I would miss my stop and end up somewhere in Eilat or something [where they have a kollel called "מלביש ערומים"]. Anyway - NEVER happened. EVERY time I woke up on time.
Once again - it is the spirit that woke up my sleeping body.
May we all connect to our spirits and access knowledge and understanding that our bodies can never perceive!!
