Leo Dee Detained After Laying Tefillin On Temple Mount On His Wedding Day

JERUSALEM — Leo Dee, who lost his wife Lucy and two daughters Maya and Rina in a 2023 terrorist attack in the Jordan Valley, ascended the Temple Mount on Sunday morning ahead of his wedding, which is taking place this evening. During his visit, he put on tefillin at the site and was detained by police forces.

Dee was taken in for a hearing, where it was explained to him that going to the Temple Mount is a חשש איסור כרת and has been forbidden by many, many Gedolei Yisrael for everyone [even after immersion in a mikva when - let's face it - many go up without immersing and violate the sanctity of the Holy Site]. The police decided to level an EXTREMELY severe punishment - to ban him from the Temple Mount for one WHOLE week. The decision noted that the ban could potentially be extended for up to six months. Serious. The police explained that that would like to ban him from going up until Moshiach comes but alas we live in a Democratic-Secularized country where law is determined not by Torah but by ancient relics of Turkish law and other Gentile rules made up by man - and fear of Arabs. Shouldn't the Jewish State be Jewish?? GOOD question!!:-)

Dee tragically lost his wife and daughters in a deadly terrorist attack that occurred in the Jordan Valley in early April 2023. Lucy Dee, of blessed memory, initially fought for her life after being critically wounded, but died of her injuries a few days after the attack.

About two months ago, Rabbi Dee published an emotional message announcing his engagement to Aliza Teplitsky, a professional from Toronto, Canada, who works for the popular website making company Wix. Aliza, 43, has lived in Jerusalem for twenty years and has never been married before.

“With praise and gratitude, we are excited to share the good news: we are engaged – Aliza and Leo,” he wrote.

We wish Dee much success and pray that he use his public influence to inspire peple to keep Halacha and live more Jewish lives. We also bless the new Mrs. Dee that she be blessed with many healthy children!!!
