Recently Amos Oz died. He was an Israeli icon. A hard-core secular Zionist, hero of many, adversary of many others. I wish his neshama no pain. Maybe in his zchus we will have a bit more clarity.
I saw this quote from him:
"Jewish history is as entwined with Palestinian history as theirs is with ours. They are and forever will be inseparable."
I am reminded of the Wizard of Oz character, the Scarecrow, who needs a brain. Now, Mr. Oz had a very good brain. But when he said that quote, it must have been in the "off" mode.
Here are the facts - the "Palestinian" people were only born in 1948. Even Wikipedia says so! How can one argue with such a formidable source. They didn't exist before. The Jewish people were born thousands of years ago.
Our histories are not intertwined.
