People talk about how there is no dignity in the once hallowed White House.
A dignified man? Not Donald J. Trump for sure.
But let us make a simple distinction. Trump is openly crass, insensitive, and at times, vulgar. Other Presidents put on a show trying to present themselves as being respectable, dignified people but that was not always a reflection of their true selves. Kennedy and Clinton were having affairs in the White House [effectively using tax payers money to fund their trysts in the tax payer funded White House]. Nixon was a foul mouthed, drunk, Anti-Semite. Cater was a Bible toting Anti-Semite. To name just a few.
If we would have a secret microphone attached to any President and heard how he spoke and conducted himself, we would probably lose respect very quickly. It is all a show.
It is important to put on the show. But it is a show nonetheless.
