I was reading the YU course catalogue from 1953 when my father הריני כפרת משכבו was a senior [he was a classmate of Rav Aharon Lichtenstein which I didn't know until about 2 minutes ago...].
Tuition: $18 per credit [today it costs from $120 to over $1000 depending on the school] plus a WHOPPING $15 university fee per semester.

1] Buy when inexpensive. Inflation is wild!!!
2] Where he is, I am *not sure* that they care about whether or not he has a college degree.... It also didn't help him much in olam hazeh. To get a job, all he had to do was basically be his father's son. But don't get me wrong - he was GREAT at his job.
