If you are driving a car and have empty space and drive by a bus stop - STOP. Ask if anyone is going in your direction [in a safe neighborhood obviously]. It is זה נהנה - the other guy will benefit and זה לא חסר - you won't lose not a penny and not more than a few seconds of your time. [You might well even be נהנה.] In such a case the Gemara says כופין על מידת סדום!!!!!!!
I once had a Rebbi, Rabbi Chaim Flom ztz"l, who stopped as a matter of course at every bus stop until his car was full. He took over 20,000 people in his car [in his estimation if I remember correctly]. He was once spotted waiting for a bus and was asked why he wasn't driving his car. He explained that his car broke down so he has to take the bus. The people in the community [Sanhedria Hamurchevet] got together and bought him a BRAND NEW CAR!!! Now he is sitting in the most amazing place enjoying eternal bliss that is unimaginable.
Pretend in your mind if neessary that you are a taxi driver and that every passenger will pay $500 dollars. I promise you - the reward from Hashem will be MUCH more.
Plus - you likely will make this person's day....
