In the late 1950's there was a tremendous storm in the religious world when Rav Yehuda [Fishman] Maimon attempted to re-establish the Sanhedrin. The Brisker Rov waged a war to prevent it. Rav Maimon "wrote what he wrote" in response and, as they say in the modern parlance - "היה שמח". It was all over the newspapers and the talk of the day. You can read about it in the 4th volume of "הרב מבריסק".
What is fascinating is that a biography of Rav Maimon was written but not a word of this was mentioned. 669 pages but this chashuve parsha was totally omitted.
The problem with censoring is that when one thing is censored the reader begins to wonder what else was omitted and if facts also altered? Then one can't trust anything.
A call to present history honestly.
