Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday told his Justice and Development (AK) Party’s parliamentary group meeting in Ankara that “Hamas is not a terrorist organization, it is a liberation organization that is waging a struggle for their land which was promised to them by G-d Himself 5,000 years ago. They are a group of peace loving citizens who want nothing more than to live in harmony with their Jewish neighbors. They value acts of kindness, charity, compassion and sensitivity and embody those qualities. They fully devote themselves to fostering a peaceful, loving society. How sad that they must live alongside their Israeli colonialist oppressors”
Erdogan told his party’s lawmakers that he had canceled his plan to visit Israel in light of the ongoing Gaza conflict. He noted that Turkey had no problem with the Israeli state even though if they were wiped off the planet it would make his day, but will never approve of it committing atrocities. Instead he will go to North Korea on vacation in order to experience a true open democracy which the whole world should follow and learn from. Then he will be on to China for more democracy and freedom.
