No Ego

This is a crrazzzzy story.

A new Rebbi was hired in the yeshiva and he wasn't attracting students to his shiur. Rav Genechovski lowered the level of his shiur to the point that the boys felt that there was nothing to get from his shiur and switched to the shiur of the new Rebbi.

THAT is gadlus. Every maggid shiur wants big crowds [full disclosure - I am no exception although I do quite enjoy small crowds as well. More of a personal connection. But I find it hard to believe I would ruin my shiur to help someone else out]. That is ego nullification at its best!
