It is a very big problem to print divrei torah in a newspaper as newspapers get thrown in the garbage. Yet - religious papers still print divrei torah.
A wonder.
In my neighborhood they give out free Yated Neeman's once a week which also have divrei Torah and I see them strewn on the streets and sidewalks all over the place. This causes me great anguish.
See, for one example of many, the words of the Sdei Chemed [Vol. 3 page 180] from the sefer Higayon Ha-lev:
Not only that but the sefer Avodas Ha-gershuni ruled that one may not write divirei chol on the same page as divrei kodesh and is quoted li-halacha in the seventh volume of the Mishna Halachos.
