בא"י, אמ"ה, הנותן לשכוי בינה להבחין בין יום ובין לילה.
תתגדל בקרבנו הנשמה, יתרחב אור החיים שבקרבנו, בהיותנו יודעים, שכל היקום כולו וחייו המלאים הנם חטיבה אחת, שההשלמה המגמתית באה מקבוץ כל חלקיו יחד. האדם היולד לעמל, וזמני חייו המתחלפים בין מנוחת הלילה ליגיעת היום, והשכוי מעורר השחר, שלו יש בינה טבעית לעמוד על המבחן להבחין בין יום ובין לילה, באמת בריאה אחת היא, רוח אחד הולך ומאחד את נפש האדם ואת נפש כל החיה כולה, באפנים גלויים ובאפנים סתומים, ובזמן שהאדם מתעלה, חס על ימיו, וממלא את תפקידו העליון, הרי כל הזמנים וכל הברואים מתעלים על ידו. וחזון כללי זה מתגלה הוא לנו, ע"י היחש של הבריה הזאת, השכוי, הקורא בקול להקיץ נרדמים. במילוי תפקידו, לפני יצירתם של כל הכלים המעוררים למיניהם, אות הוא על השלמת תפקיד החיים ברוחניותם המתמלא מהמון היצורים, אשר כולם יחד עומדים להוציא אל הפעל את הדרתה של נשמת האדם העליונה, ההולכת ומתגברת עם ימי החיים וחליפות הזמנים, הימים והלילות, עם חלוקי תפקידיהם. והננו מברכים ע"ז בלב מלא רגשי קודש, לד' הנותן לשכוי בינה להבחין בין יום ובין לילה. Every morning we thank Hashem that the rooster can distinguish between day and night. What has a rooster to do with anything?? THAT is how we start our day. Chazal couldn't think of anything more practical for which to thank Hashem?
A WONDER!
Let us unravel the wonder...
We must look at creation as a unified whole. All parts are interdependent and interelated. The rooster is connected to mankind and mankind is connected to the rooster [and all of the animal kingdom]. This is expressed in a very concrete way when the rooster rouses us from our sleep at the crack of dawn and enables us to fulfill our purpose on earth. The night is for sleeping [at least it was before Ben Franklin...] while the day is for creative living. Thanks to the rooster we are able to take advantage of the day in the fullest by awakening on time and then getting to our daily tasks. Our soul is so grateful to Hashem that it can fulfill it's purpose and therefore proclaims with great joy and emotion ....
Thank you Hashem for giving the rooster the ability to distinguish between day and night.
