The 1st of the 13 Principles of Faith printed in the siddur states:
אני מאמין האמונה שלימה שהבורא יתברך שמו הוא מנהיג לכל הברואים והוא לבדו עשה עושה ויעשה לכל המעשים.
I believe with a complete faith that the Creator may His name be blessed is the leader of all creations, and He alone made, makes and will make everything.
That is a really nice and even true sentiment.
But this declaration of faith is based on the Rambam's first principle of faith and the Rambam doesn't say this!!
The Rambam actually says as follows:
היסוד הראשון, מציאות הבורא יתברך. והוא שיש שָׁם נמצא שלם בכל דרכי המציאוּת, והוא עִלַּת מציאוּת הנמצאים כולם – בו קיום מציאותם וממנו קיומם. וְאִלּוּ יעלה על הלב הֶעְדֵּר מציאותו – נתבטלה מציאות כל הנמצאים, ולא נשאר נמצא שֶׁיִּתְקַיֵּם מציאותו. ואם נעלה על לבנו העדר הנמצאים כולם זולתו – לא יתבטל מציאות השם יתברך ולא תִּגָּרֵעַ. כי הוא מסתפק במציאותו, וְדַי לו בעצמו, ואינו צריך במציאותו לזולתו. וכל מה שזולתו מן הַשְּׂכָלִים, רצוני לומר המלאכים וגופי הגלגלים, ומה שיש בתוכם, ומה שיש למטה מהם – הכל צריכים במציאותם אליו. וזה היסוד הראשון מורה עליו דיבור (שמות כ ב): "אָנֹכִי יְיָ אֱלֹהֶיךָ".
Meaning that we are talking about Hashem Himself and not Hashem as the creator. He is absolutely perfect, MUST exist, no reality can exist without Him etc. What is printed in the siddur misses out on that...
