A Loser Can Feel Like A Winner - Hashem Is In The Room

Imagine investing $700 in a project and it failed.

Imagine investing $7,000 in a project and it failed.

$70,000?

$700,000?

It's getting worse.

7 million.

OUUUUUUUUUUUCH!!!!!!

70 million???????

OUUUUUCCHHHHHH OUUUUCCCHHHH!!

If it were me? I would just, like, retire from life. Deeeepreeeeeeession!!!!

Take mussar from Beto O'Rourke. He ran for Senator of Texas against Ted Cruz and invested 70 million dollars in the campaign and worked tirelessly for months, day and night. But Cruz [who invested a paltry 30 mil.] won. BY THE SKIN OF HIS TEETH.

I don't like O'Rourke's politics. I disagree with him on almost every issue. But POOOOORR GUY!!! Rachmanus!

What impressed me was that after he lost, he remained VERY UPBEAT!! Not a word of frustration, anger or resentment emanated from his mouth. He had a very optimistic perspective on everything. 70 million dollars down the drain for naught? Being defeated by a man he loathes? Months spent on a campaign that gained him nothing? Time away from his family? Lost sleep? Skipped meals? Being attacked by his many opponents? NO SWEAT. He moves on with a smile and a very positive message [and lots of expressions of love for his supporters].

MAYBE he is just a good actor. But that doesn't matter for our purposes. What does matter is the following kal va-chomer: If a secular politician can take such an incredibly huge disappointment with such aplomb and optimism, we Jews who believe in G-d, Hashgacha Pratis, that all is for the best etc. etc., should CERTAINLY not get down when things don't go our way.

In other political happenings - there was a TIGHT, HARD FOUGHT RACE, to be Governer of Florida. It got vicious and brutal at times. Ron De Santis won - barely and thankfully [from my perspective. He is very Pro-Israel in addition to other reasons I wanted him to win]. At the post-election celebration, his Lieutenant Governer Jeanette Nunez [the highest political office held by a female Hispanic in Florida's history] got up and thanked her husband etc. and ... "G-d, who is here in the room with us right now."

Shivisi Hashem Li-negdi Tomid. We should always remember that "He is in the room with us right now".
