I just read an article by a young man asserting that just as general society is totally coed, so should our world be.
My response is two-fold.
1] According to his logic, the mechitza should go down in shul. Society doesn't have mechitzos, why should we. According to his logic, all of the laws we have separating men and woman should be abolished - society after all is not shomer negiya. According to his logic we should do away with mikva - society doesn't separate between man and his wife [the problem is that all too often society doesn't separate between man and someone else's wife either]. Heck, according to his logic let us forget our entire tradition!! We live in a different society, so let's just assimilate.
NOT!!!
2] There was ONE thing he forget in his article. One very CRITICAL factor that received no mention.
